BIKES FOR KIDS 2010 is now over. With your generous support, over 60 children and their families were able to receive bikes from this year's program. Thank you!!!
What is it?
Bikes for Kids is a program that was created through the initiative of the United Way of Colchester Country in the spring of 2000. It is a worthwhile project that allows the community to come together and provides children of all ages the thrill of receiving an unexpected gift, as well as, exercise and have fun on their brand-new bike all summer long!
How Does it Work?
Bikes for Kids collects donated used bikes from members in the community. The bikes are repaired, safety checked and polished by United Way staff and volunteers. The newly renovated bikes are distributed to children in the community who want and need a bike to ride!
How and Why Should I Get Involved?
By volunteering your time and bike repair knowledge, sponsoring either through monetary, gift certificates, and/or donating bikes to the Bikes for Kids program, you will be helping the community come together to work for a very worthwhile cause and you will be bringing joy and endless smiles into the lives of children across the county.
